Her Excellency Afaf Al Merry, head of the Social Services Department in Sharjah, honored Sharjah Cooperative for sponsoring the Third Al Hamriyah Children’s Festival 2015, with Marriam Majid Al Shamsi, Social Services Department director in Al Hamriah present.
Ahmed Al Salman, public relations and media section head said Sharjah Cooperative has always sought to participate in the different societal events, and he praised the good organization of the event by the Social Services department, as the festival has drawn a large number of children and their parents, and he stressed the importance of cooperation with the department in order to achieve its goals and vision of reaching individuals and families of special social needs for independence and descent living.
The festival included entertainment activities for children such as face painting and educating their parents on ways to protect them from any act of aggression with an exciting style for spreading awareness, such as “my rights” game, awareness workshops, and a distinguished participation for cartoon characters that are approved by the department (Salem wa Salamah). Activities were diverse to satisfy children and their parents, including a variety of physical and cultural competitions, drawing on the skin, and bracelet making.
The festival showcased an exhibition for productive families in the Heritage and Cultural Village in Al Hamriyah that included handcrafts, perfumes, incense, and folk dishes that delighted visitors.
